PORTopera elects three new members
to its Board of Directors.

John Serrage John Serrageof Cape Elizabeth is a retired neonatologist and pediatrician. He is a music lover of long standing, having attended opera performances for 68 years, studied piano for 11 years and organ for 5 years. He holds an M.A. from Harvard University and has taken part in 12 years of archaeological expeditions. Since retirement in 2000 he has become a full time organist, tour guide, museum docent, and adult educator at USM.

Richard Jamborsky

Richard Jamborsky of Durham, Maine, is a retired Commonwealth of Virginia trial judge, mediator and arbitrator, who moved to Maine from the Washington, DC area in 2008. He has been an enthusiastic opera lover for over 55 years. Prior to moving to Maine, he served on the boards of several arts organizations, including The Arts Club of Washington, of which he was also an officer. After his retirement, he studied at Studio Theatre Acting Conservatory in Washington and appeared in various Washington area professional productions. His commitment to PORTopera began when he attended the Company's outstanding production of Roméo et Juliette in 2008.

Joseph Lonski is an Investment Solutions Specialist with Key Private Bank for the Northeast region in Maine. In this vital position, Joseph guides clients with his in-depth knowledge of investment management, estate and financial planning. His extensive experience in the banking industry strengthens Key Private Bank’s local-level management and trust sales platforms. In his previous role, Joseph was an Investment and Trust Consultant for Key Private Bank. Prior to joining Key, he was Vice President in Smith Barney/Citigroup’s wealth management division in Philadelphia, PA. He served in this capacity for twenty-three years. Prior to that he spent eleven years as a tenured Professor of Biology at Bucknell University. He holds degrees from Cornell University, UCLA and a PhD.

Sweethearts Serenade

You are invited to an evening of food, drink and song with internationally acclaimed singers John McVeigh and Lisa Saffer, accompanied by Kathleen Scott. A Sweethearts Serenade will be held Thursday, February 18, 2010 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at Maine Bank & Trust, 467 Congress Street, Portland. The cost is $65 per person. Proceeds from the serenade will go to support PORTopera's 2010 production of Hansel and Gretel.
