Develop original productions.
We’re planning an original and provocative production of Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel in summer 2010. New funds will allow us to continue to create productions unique to PORTopera, intriguing to our audience and to the opera world.

Plan for 2011, 2012 and beyond.
Operas on PORTopera’s “short list” include: Falstaff, Susannah, Otello, Don Pasquale and others. With your funds and the matching grant, PORTopera will be able to plan several years ahead, resulting in production, casting, and marketing efficiencies.

Provide additional productions each season.
With careful management of new funds, PORTopera will be closer to being able to present more than one major production per season.

Strengthen our balance sheet.
We will improve our balance sheet, making PORTopera more attractive to grant givers and potential corporate donors.
